Mild Injury

I am not always a perfect picture of health.
However, I am always continuing to work on myself!

Just this past weekend, I was mildly injured in a freak incident involving my sweet pup. At 7 years old, he has yet to figure out the whole spatial awareness thing ๐Ÿ˜‚ and his rock hard skull collided with my knee…
Over the last few days, my knee just wasn’t healing in a way I was happy with. I could only walk gently and slowly, and couldn’t do much for physical activity. I took some supplements, made time for rest, and utilized red and NIR LED therapy. I’d had only mild improvements.

So today, I decided it was time to prioritize my health, and I had two appointments for myself. Thankfully the timings for both of the appointments worked out perfectly, even though they were the only ones available! Ask and you shall receive ๐Ÿ˜Š

At Discovery Health Healing Center, I had a NIR laser treatment that specifically targeted my knee. It helped some of my pain immediately, but I still had a lot of stiffness. I realize the effects can take a while to be seen, but I could tell something was still off. At the recommendation of Dr. Kelly, I also scheduled an appointment with my chiropractor. Not sure why it never crossed my own mind!

When I called the chiro office, they asked how quickly I could be there, because they had an opening in 13 minutes. I hobbled into my car and made it across town in 12 ๐Ÿ˜Ž and OMG am I glad I did! After the usual spinal adjustment, my doctor made several adjustments to my knee, and boom, things shifted back into place! It was an amazing relieving feeling. And I could stand again! I’m still walking slowly, but I can bear more weight on it and it feels so aligned and ready to heal itself!

I went home and took an epsom salt bath to help relax my muscles that have been improperly strained for the last few days. Then I applied some of Earthley‘s magnesium-rich Good Night Lotion, and some CBD Pain Relief Rub. And now, I’m making some good old fashioned chicken soup to nourish myself ๐Ÿ’•

What are your go-to’s when you have a mild injury?
