Cleaner Living with the Norwex Mop System
As the owner of a cleaning business, I am frequently asked for cleaning tips. One thing I’ve been asked about a lot lately is about cleaning different types of flooring.
Many people have the belief that cleaning floors is complicated and time consuming. While it definitely can take some time depending on the square footage of your home, it absolutely can be SIMPLE!
Today, I’m going to focus on the more “complicated” floors to clean – hard floors. This can include LVP, LVT, laminate, tile, hardwood, etc.
I always go over the entire floor twice at minimum. The first pass removes all loose dirt, dust and debris that is resting on the surface. I will use either a vacuum or a dust mop head for this first portion of the cleaning.
On hardwood floors in particular, I like to use my Shark Apex AZ1002 because it has excellent suction and an amazing second brushroll bar that out-preforms all other vacuums I’ve used. The brushroll is soft, picks up all the dirt and dust, and leaves floors looking polished.
I am very picky when it comes to cleaning solutions. I only used the greenest and most natural solutions. Keeping this in mind, I was ecstatic when I discovered Norwex. The Norwex mop is incredibly effective with just water!
Norwex has several different mop heads. There are dry mop heads that can be used in place of sweeping or vacuuming; and there are two styles of wet mop heads- hardwood and tile. I use the hardwood mop head on hardwood floors because it is gentle and effective. The tile mop head has some scrubby threads woven into it which works very well on tile and textured floors. The mop itself has a good weight to it to aid in the scrubbing power as well.
And that’s it! My go-to floor cleaning system is incredibly simple.
As always, keeping up with regular maintenance cleaning is important to minimize the time and effort required!
